Meet Donna & Brent Rogers

Meet Donna & Brent Rogers

Donna Rogers and her husband Brent purchased the Coal River Lodge in 1999 with plans to revive the historic mile post. She saw the opportunity to revive Coal River Lodge and knew it was the perfect location for travellers, hunters and river boaters to stop in along their travels.

Being only 60 miles from the BC/Yukon border on the Alaska Highway, Coal River is the furthest northern city in BC. One quick look at the Coal River Lodge will showcase how the property is majestically bordered by the Liard River, the Coal River and the Alaska Highway

The lifestyle up north is very relaxing with wide open skies and multiple gifts from mother nature. Donna says her favourite thing about owning Coal River Services is the people and is proud of what she and her husband Brent have accomplished together.

“We meet all kinds of unique and interesting people through our summer season that are enjoying their travels along the Alaska Highway," says Donna. “Brent and I have taken a lodge that was in poor shape and turned it around to be once again a viable business.”

There are lots of opportunities to enjoy Coal River and Donna is no stranger to the gifts granted to her and her fellow residents. She enjoys the peace that surrounds her community, the beautiful summer days and the glitter of gold in the river.

The business duo follows a tried and true vision for their businesses future. If you provide a clean establishment with friendly and welcoming people, great people will always enjoy doing business with you.
